Women and their melodrama

From my childhood, I was always emphasized the importance of a career. It was not the necessity of money that drove me to work. It was necessity of having one's identification, make use of one's knowledge and contribute something towards ur fellow beings..But when I stepped into corporate sector, one thing I noticed was Management was always filled with men. There were hardly few women on top. I keep thinking why women dont make it although they are exceptional managers at home and toppers in schools and colleges.

If we look at the current scenarios , atleast in India. there are large number of women at entry level and very very small number on top in all domains not just IT.

what could be the reasons?

The reason atleast what I could think of are:

Maternity
Childcare
Husband's Wallet :)

There could be many other reasons which I would not deny.

But I would like to discuss on the above reasons.
There are many offices which provide sufficient facilities, flexi working hours , sabbatical leave etc to retain the fairer sex.
I have seen lot of ladies ( increasing number in software field) who just give the excuses. They lack commitment to work and dont have the vision of having a full fledged career for themselves. They work just to make money. Once they are married, anyways they will be supported by their husbands. They dont seem to have their priorities set right and end up being messy. Once they find it stressful, they decide to quit.

I dont think it requires great intelligence to work in a software company or any other field unless you are doing some research:). All that it needs is few committed hours at work to execute the job in hand. Most ladies give excuses even for that.. Then how else they can raise to the top. It affects ladies who really show extra energy and go that extra mile doing personal sacrifices to perform in careers. Ladies in general will be considered as " Not an expert at their work", "dont respect deadlines".

When will the scenario change?
When will men start thinking about ladies for what they are than how they are?
Is family and children, only ladies world? Why they are themselves in a cocoon? why dont they start contributing on their part ?
All such questions keep pondering me with no answers.....

Pity all those ladies with no identity and admire those ON TOP.!!!!!

A Tribute to Tarak Balaji

I still remember my first day when I stepped into Delphi Automotive Systems.
It was around 1st week of May in 2006. My engineering wasnt complete, final sem was going on.
Delphi had set up a meeting with all campus recruits. It was so exciting just to get a peep into the job industry. We had intro sessions, overview of the company, speed dating sessions and so on , typical of software company. At the end of the day , we were handed our offer letters. It was handed by Tarak Balaji. That was my first meet up with him.

Subsequently I joined Delphi in July and started my career.
In 2008, Tarak Balaji took in charge as Director of Technical Center India. That was a time of recession. So Delphi in general and TCI in particular went through lot of changes. Tarak was a very instrumental leader. He had led the product development of low cost electronics clusters and anti theft devices for TATA Nano in addition to many automotive electronics product development for global OEMs and much more.
His growth from a Quality engineer to Director is phenomenon in such a short time.

Some of his achievements were:

Setting up the entertainment & telematics group in India Technical center and manged flawless execution of more than 150 global automotive production programs.

Led many low cost electronics product development initiatives like Engine Management electronics controller, Audio & Navigation systems, Immobilizer & Security solution for 2 Wheeler & 4 Wheeler, etc., for the Indian market resulting in significant revenue bookings.

Due to project changes and my personal interests, I had decided to leave delphi in Jan 2010 and move on further. On my last day At Delphi, He had personally wished me Best of luck !!! .

A unique thing which happened in Aug 2010 was calling for ex-employees meet.
I was really excited to meet all my old friends and this meet was a really special one as it regarded ex-employees contribution too how ever small or big it was..A true Delphi Re-Union.

"A considerable thought in one's absence will be more special than  hundered words in his presence".

Here's a pic of our meet up:
We were gifted a watch as a token of momento.

That was the last time, I met him. Then I heard the news of cancer and was hoping for his recovery.
but Alas he is no more !!! :(

TCI has seen many engineers at different levels walking in and out over the past 10 years .Many successful prgrams are launched and some lessons to be learnt like in every other industry. With all its highs and lows , It is needless to say that the strongest pillar which helped in this journey are some special people like Tarak. The  growth would NOT have been possible without his contribution.

May God give his family members all the strength to overcome his absence and move on in life.

One of my favourite pics, which brings back good memories of my Delphi Years ..

A Cancerous Talc

An interesting piece of info which i came across on TV . so thought let me spread the awareness.

Talcum powder causes cancer. As a powder, it is useful for keeping skin dry and helping to prevent rashes. It is widely used in cosmetic products such as baby powder and adult body and facial powders, as well as in a number of other consumer products. In its natural form, talc may contain asbestos, a substance known to cause cancers in and around the lungs. Because of this, all home-use talcum products have been asbestos-free since the 1970s.
  • People who have long-term exposure to natural talc fibers at work, such as talc miners, are at higher risk from lung cancer from breathing them in.
  • Women who apply talcum powder regularly in the genital area have an increased risk of ovarian cancer.
these are the concerns still under investigations. Studies show mixed results.

Its better to be aware and minimize the usage.:)

Sri Ramajayam

SriRamajayam

I am in the habit of writing Sri Ramajayam when ever I feel I need to write or connect with God.
Once I complete writing I feel more relaxed and relieved ..

Tulasidas instructs the following in Hanuman Chalisa:

aura devata chita na dharaii
hanumata seii sarva sukha karaii

"Do not fix your consciousness on any other devata. Worshipping Hanuman will bring all auspiscious results and happiness."

The idea is that one's mind must be fixed on the person whom one is worshipping. If you are writing Sri Rama Jayam then you should be meditating only on him without deviating your mind. Completely absorbing your mind and actions in is bhakti.

The image symbolises Mulakarana: The basis..

Pondering myself for the gnana of mulakarana.

Money Never Sleeps

A piece of paper in black and white , yet something which moves the world. Existence doesnt have any meaning without it.

Money is a tool of exchange, which can’t exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them. . Money is made possible only by the men who produce. Is this what you consider evil?

Everyone works for money. but at the end of the day no one is satisfied with it irrespective of the amount they possess. Money wants money.
Mind is the root of all the goods produced and of all the wealth that has ever existed on earth.

“But money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver. It will give you the means for the satisfaction of your desires, but it will not provide you with desires.

“Money cannot buy happiness for the man who has no concept of what he wants; money will not give him a code of values, if he’s evaded the knowledge of what to value, and it will not provide him with a purpose, if he’s evaded the choice of what to seek. Money will not buy intelligence for the fool, or admiration for the coward, or respect for the incompetent. The man who attempts to purchase the brains of his superiors to serve him, with his money replacing his judgment, ends up by becoming the victim of his inferiors. The men of intelligence desert him, but the cheats and the frauds come flocking to him, drawn by a law which he has not discovered: that no man may be smaller than his money. Is this the reason why you call it evil?

Dreams creates money, and dreams never die.

A labourer works hard whole day just to own a little more money.
It lies in the capacity of the mind and thoughts how to create money rather than profession or business.
others are all byproducts.

Respect money but do not be consumed by it for it is just a tool to live life.

Life lies in dreams,
Dreams never Die,
And

MONEY NEVER SLEEPS!!!
